CODA is a music production coaching tool built by Studio OS. We collect the minimum data needed to run the service. We never sell your data. We never claim rights to your audio. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time.

What We Collect

Account infoEmail address and display name when you create an account. Used for authentication and to identify your analyses.
Profile dataGenre preferences, DAW, experience level. Stored so your coaching is personalized across sessions.
Audio filesTracks you upload for analysis. Stored temporarily during processing, then kept only if you choose to save them. Never shared with third parties.
Analysis resultsScores, coaching cards, spectral data. Stored to power your dashboard and progression tracking.
Usage analyticsPage views, button clicks, feature usage. Collected via PostHog (self-hosted pipeline) and TikTok Pixel. Only active if you accept cookies.
Payment infoHandled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Stripe's privacy policy governs payment data.

How We Use Your Data

  • Deliver and improve the coaching experience
  • Personalize analysis based on your genre, DAW, and plugins
  • Track your progression across analyses over time
  • Measure product performance and fix issues
  • Send transactional emails (receipts, password resets)
  • Run ads measurement through TikTok Pixel (only with consent)

Third-Party Services

SupabaseDatabase and authentication. Your account data and analysis results are stored in Supabase with row-level security.
StripePayment processing. We never handle or store card details directly.
PostHogProduct analytics. Tracks feature usage to help us improve CODA. Only active with your consent.
TikTok PixelAds measurement. Helps us understand which campaigns bring producers to CODA. Only active with your consent.
VercelFrontend hosting and CDN. Standard web server logs (IP, user agent) are retained per Vercel's privacy policy.

Cookies and Tracking

CODA uses a consent-based approach to tracking. On your first visit, you are asked whether to accept or decline analytics cookies. If you decline, no tracking scripts are loaded and no analytics data is collected. Your preference is stored in your browser's local storage.

Essential cookies (authentication session) are always active because they are required for the service to function.

Data Retention

Audio files uploaded for analysis are stored during processing and retained only if you save the analysis. You can delete individual analyses or your entire account at any time from your dashboard.

When you delete your account, all associated data (profile, analyses, coaching history, uploaded audio) is permanently removed within 30 days. Backups are purged on the same schedule.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access all personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your account and all associated data
  • Export your analysis history
  • Withdraw consent for analytics tracking at any time
  • Object to processing of your data for marketing purposes

Children

CODA is not directed at anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice within the app. Continued use of CODA after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
